GEM Beauty Co. is the culmination of over 15 years of passion, dedication, and artistry from owner Taylor Kline Duprey.

 

Taylor began her career early, earning her cosmetology license and high school diploma in 2010 and starting in the salon world at just 16 years old. Her love for the beauty industry has only grown as trends, techniques, and creativity continue to evolve.

 

In 2018, Taylor opened a two-chair studio that quickly outgrew its walls. During a trip to San Francisco that same year, she discovered street art reading, “Every gemstone is beautiful and unique in its own special way; no cut or color is the same.” It resonated deeply with the way she customizes every cut and color for each client. That moment planted the seed for the name GEM and in 2019, the salon was born.

 

GEM is heavily influenced by Taylor’s time living and working as a colorist in New York City, where art, individuality, and self-expression are part of everyday life. She trained extensively through Arrojo Studio’s renowned program, and she brought that same education-focused culture home to Delaware. Every GEM stylist completes a similar hands-on training program, ensuring exceptional skill, consistency, and confidence across all services.

 

Today, Taylor continues to elevate the salon experience, expanding offerings, refining services, and creating an atmosphere where every guest feels beautiful inside and out.
